The historic Albrecht family villa
Hotel history
In the 1920s, the excursion restaurant Establissement ALBRECHT was built among the Bratislava vineyards, designed by Alexander Feigler. It quickly gained popularity thanks to the fine selection of wines from the renowned winemaking Albrecht family. The beautiful surroundings of gardens and vineyards made the villa a natural choice for relaxation.
Historically, the hotel was sought after mainly for the high level of gastronomy provided by its restaurant. In the 1980s, it was used as an educational center. After turbulent times and reaching a state of near ruin, the hotel underwent a complete reconstruction in 2008, transforming into Hotel Albrecht as we know it today, with only a few modifications since then.
Over the years, the hotel has changed owners and operators several times. In 2009, it won the Architecture Award in the Interior category from the Slovak Chamber of Architects – the CE.ZA.AR award. This achievement was credited to the team of Iľja Skoček Jr., Igor Čierny, Peter Kožuško, and Martin Skoček. The result was a noble and luxurious 5-star hotel with a unique atmosphere – a true architectural gem that contrasted with concrete ceilings, bricks, and wooden beams.
The hotel section was closed in 2021. Today, Hotel & Restaurant Albrecht operates as a complete unit with twelve rooms based on the original layout of the historic building. As a National Cultural Monument, it is a place steeped in history. Located in the quiet residential and diplomatic quarter of Mudroňova Street in Bratislava, close to Bratislava Castle, the hotel benefits from its attractive position – easily accessible to the historic city center yet offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by greenery.
